Craftsman Style Rockspring is Spacious and Charming0 Comments
This modern Craftsman cottage is larger than it appears. The two-story Rockspring offers four bedrooms, along with a significant bonus room above the garage. Its wideopen gathering space fills the entire right side of the house, front-to-back.
Craftsman touches give the front exterior nostalgic charm. Decorative corbels accent multiple gables, while gridded top sections brighten the windows. The welcoming front porch is highlighted by iconic tapered columns mounted on stone veneer bases.
A stairway right ahead of the entry leads to bedrooms on the second floor. The spacious coat closet nestles underneath the far end-of the stairs, near the juncture of the dining room and kitchen. To the left, a short hallway extends past a little-bathroom as well as a door to the garage before reaching the utility room along with the owners’ suite.
Sun light washes into the linked gathering space through wide windows around the external wall. More spills in at the rear, via a window over the kitchen-sink and an atrium door that leads out onto the covered patio. Counters, cupboards, appliances as well as a pantry line up along four sides of the kitchen. A flush eating bar invites interactions with relatives and buddies, while preserving curious fingers well away from the food. It’s also helpful for homework supervision.
The owners’ suite will be the only ground-level bedroom. Amenities include a large walk-in closet and a bathroom with a shower and dual vanity.
Three more bedrooms, a full bathroom and a bonus room are upstairs in the Rockspring. In the bathroom, sun light beams in through a large window over the bathtub. An doorway at the top of the steps opens to the bonus area, which has one large window on its exterior wall.
