Its low-pitched roof with deeply overhanging eaves, and a front facade that emphasizes horizontal lines mark this as a prairie-style house plan. But the interior is clearly contemporary. It even has four bathrooms. Standing at the kitchen sink you are next to the nook and can look out across the long raised eating bar into a great room with a fireplace.
Construction is complete on the Camas house plan we’ve been following on the home plan blog. The clients have moved into their home over the 4th of July weekend. We invite you to take the photo tour of the completed home.

Housing Market Making Gains
If you’re looking to build a new home and would like to take advantage of the best talent in a competitive market, now may be the best time to act. Sales of newly built single-family homes rose 11 percent in June, according to U.S. Commerce Department numbers, which marks a third consecutive month of improved sales activity. The Commerce Department also reported nationwide housing starts and permits posted substantial gains in June. Both signs that the housing market is starting to pick up and the best building environment in over a decade may be passing you by.
Recent market surveys have indicated that people are looking for smaller more efficient floor plans. We have over 300 home plans on our site that are less than 2000 square feet. A new home built with today's energy efficient standards and environmentally friendly products and construction techniques will contribute to your and the planets well being for years to come.

Above, a wide loft overlooks the great room and shares its view. Bathroom, bunk room, and extensive storage spaces are also upstairs. The ranch-style Ottawa 30-601 cabin was built by Kent Smith of KLS Construction and his wife Jodie of Jodie Smith Real Estate in the beautiful McKenzie River Valley. The following photo tour showcases the quality construction and finishes that blend this house with it's natural scenic location.
Abundant natural light washes into the vaulted and spacious great room that forms the core of this home. Shelves fill one wall, while a gas fireplace nestles into a front corner. The kitchen, too, is vaulted, and bounded by a diagonal eating bar/counter. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms fill the left wing.

In this Cape Cod-style beach cottage, the main floor is one flight up from ground level. The vaulted living room is open to the dining room, which is linked to the kitchen. Glass sparkles across most of the rear wall, so these joined areas are both bright and spacious. The vaulted owners’ suite boasts a large bathroom with a deep soaking tub and walk-in closet.
The Camas house plan (now known as the Dogwood) is complete! The happy couple moved into their Craftsman style home over the 4th of July holiday. "We really enjoyed the construction process and making this a home for us with our own personal touches. The crew from Gansen Construction were both professional and fun", said Mrs. C.
The couple modified the original design to accommodate the lot, trim construction costs, and accommodate their living style. Changes included a full mirror reverse, adding french doors in the foyer accessing the bedroom which will be used as a music room, modifying the owners' suite bathroom and walk-in closet area, and pulled the front of the house forward and straightened out the rear wall of the house. The new spin-off version of this design will soon be released as the Dogwood.
This traditional garage plan can house up to 8 cars. The largest door is 12' wide and 14' tall and could house a recreational vechicle. The other three doors are the same size at 10' wide and 10' tall. To the right side of the garage is a recreation room with a full bathroom, and a study room in the rear.
