We are very excited to have our first blog post following the construction of one of our house plans.
Builder, Mike Gansen of Gansen Construction, and his clients are building a modified version of the Camas house plan in a subdivision in the near by city of Junction City. Construction is set to begin in just a few short weeks.
Mr. & Mrs. C will be able to share their building experience and photographs through this blog post. Friends in Rhode Island and family in California and Arizona will be able to follow the progress and even post a thought or two through their process. We hope this is the first of many interactive construction projects to be featured on our blog.
As an established and respected builder in Lane County Oregon, Mike Gansen has constructed many of our house plans, and has shared photographs of a few of his completed projects (Ridgeview & Westdale) which have been featured on our blog. We have enjoyed working with Mike and his clients over the years.
If you haven't done so already, here's your last chance to participate in our annual "Home from the Heart" survey. The 2009 Home from the Heart Survey tally will close by the end of the week and we'll begin compiling the results and for release of this year's "Home from the Heart".

Quality contractors are more available, and good prices offered on finishes and fixtures. A good start is of course a quality set of construction plans and we're here to help whether it's custom design, pre-designed home plans, or plan modification services.
This month the featured plans include the Strathmore a comfortable and welcoming Bungalow style ranch house with an open floor plan. The Belle Vista is a luxurious estate-sized Mediterranean style design. You'll find contemporary living within the walls of the Windsor's Craftsman ranch style facade. Hexagon house designs allow you to take in all your view has to offer and the McKinley is one of many that we have available on our site. This delightful guest cottage, makes a relaxing stay for friends and family. Enter through the double doors to the great room with a wood stove in the corner. Towards the rear of the cottage is a kitchenette, perfect for allowing guest to make there own snacks and lunches if they would like. There is also a full bathroom. Ladders on both sides of the great room access the two storage spaces above.
Nostalgic wooden railings highlight a wide porch that wraps around to the right, while a deck spans most of the rear in this country house plan. Inside, spacious family living areas fill most of the main floor. The owners' suite, also on this floor, has its own bayed sitting area. Two or three more bedrooms and a library/loft are upstairs.
"We love it more each day"- Mr. J.C.
Thank you sending us the photograph!
This single-level Craftsman cottage is only 41 feet wide, yet its vaulted family gathering area is refreshingly bright and spacious. Light spills into the vaulted kitchen through a large skylight and a window fronting the sink. It’s easy to keep your eye on everything from there, including dancing flames in the vaulted living room’s gas fireplace.
It's time for you to participate in our annual "Home from the Heart" survey. If you've ever considered designing the home that's in your heart, here's your chance. The 2009 Home from the Heart Survey makes it fun and easy.
You and other readers are the true experts when it comes to what contemporary families really want. Some like a formal dining or living room, while others would fill that space with a home office and exercise room. For others, a great room open to the kitchen is the only gathering space they need. With ecological awareness on the rise, many more families are considering “green building” techniques and projects. But what do most people actually want?
Once we have compiled the responses, we will design a home based on the preferences that emerge. That home will be ready for publication in approximately three months. Last year resulted in the Heartington 10-550, a stately ranch style home.
