Mediterranean Florosa is suprisingly spacious
Arched windows and a tile roof give a decidedly Mediterranean flavor to the Florosa, a small home that feels surprisingly spacious for its 1,542 square feet. Stucco detailing on the garage echoes the arch motif, as does the shape of the transom window over the front door.
The impression of spaciousness begins as soon as you step inside. The entry ceiling is high and vaulted. Light spills in through the stacked window panes next to the door, and beams down through the transom.
Straight ahead, you find yourself in a vaulted great room that combines the functions of living room, dining room and kitchen. A half wall connected to a raised eating bar provides separation between the kitchen and living room. This arrangement hides kitchen mess from view without impeding communication.
Sliding glass doors in the dining room open onto a wide and sunny screened porch. A roomy pantry hides behind folding doors, and a pass-through utility room connects the kitchen to the garage. Overhead cabinets on both sides of the passage provide storage, and there's a long folding counter opposite the appliances.
Couples won't have to get in each others way in the master suite. Features include dual vanities and his 'n hers walk-in closets. Both of the secondary bedrooms are the same size, and brightened by large windows. But the bedroom near the entry, with its arched window and vaulted ceiling, will surely be the favorite.
Storage space lines the hallway that leads to the bedrooms, and a long coat closet is just inside the Florosa's entry.
