Economy, flexibility define the Weston
Basically rectangular in shape, the ranch-style Weston is economical to build and maintain. With four bedrooms and a large family room, it is well-adapted to the needs of a young and growing family. Empty nesters, looking to cut down on maintenance tasks while still keeping rooms available for visiting grandchildren, might also appreciate this plan.
The U-shaped kitchen borders on a large family room. Both areas are bright. In the kitchen, a wide window spans the counter in front of the sink and dishwasher. More light spills into the family room through an even wider window, plus an atrium door that accesses the patio.
A lengthy raised eating bar defines the two spaces and puts kitchen clutter below the line-of-sight of the family room. Seated on high stools at the eating bar, you can grab a quick snack, or linger to chat with the cooks and clean-up crew. Utilities are tucked in a pass-through space that connects the family room to the garage. Cabinets over the appliances provide storage, as do the counter and shelves on the opposite side.
Dining room and living room flow together, creating a sense of openness. Sliding glass doors open to the patio.
Storage closets that line the hallway leading to the bedrooms include a coat closet, a linen closet, and general storage. All of the bedrooms are small, but the master suite does have a private bathroom and a walk-in closet. Toilet and shower are separately enclosed for steam containment and added privacy.
The Weston's secondary bedrooms share a bathroom with combination tub and shower.
