Dalneigh worth a second & third look
   Interesting window treatments, cultured river rock wainscoting, and gable-end corbels lure observers into taking a second look at the Dalneigh. These Craftsman-style features give an intriguing look to this spacious contemporary cottage.
   A gently arched opening invites you onto the high-ceilinged porch, where the doorway transom echoes the shape of the porch opening. Inside, light spills into the vaulted foyer through sidelights as well as the arched transom. Double doors on the left open into a vaulted den that could be a home office or even a fourth bedroom.
   An extensive array of shared spaces fills the core and left side of the home; bedrooms line up along the right. To enter the vaulted living room, you pass by an art niche and under a display shelf set at a diagonal to the foyer. Windows fill most of the rear wall, and a gas fireplace angles across one corner. This generously sized space is fully open to the vaulted nook across the room, and visually open to the kitchen, above the counter’s raised rim and eating bar.
   The kitchen has a wealth of counters and cabinets, including a central cook-top work island and a roomy corner pantry. A hobby room links with the large laundry room through one kitchen door, while access to the three-car garage is through the other.
   Two sets of double doors angle off from the nook in an unusual V-shaped alcove. One set opens into a sun room with patio access, while the other brings you into the Dalneigh’s dining room.
   In the owners’ suite, an arched opening leads past two roomy walk-in closets, one larger than the other, and into a bathroom with a dual vanity, private toilet, and step-in shower.
