Informal Everett has dash of classic style
Raised keystones that accent two arched lintels give the contemporary Everett a dash of classic styling. Wood handrails and a covered porch add a homey touch. In this informal midsize home, a great room serves the combined functions of family room and parlor.
All of the ground floor rooms are generously sized, but the sense of spaciousness is most notable in the entry and great room where the ceiling is a lofty two stories high.
High plant shelves line the right side of the entry, extending along the wall as far as the gas fireplace in the great room. On the left, an arched opening flanked by columns opens into a dining room that's also accessible via a passageway near the kitchen.
Relaxed, day-to-day living spaces flow together at the rear. A counter that could be outfitted as an eating bar bounds the kitchen and great room, leaving visual access open between the two areas.
Light from a skylight spills down into the roomy country kitchen, adding to natural illumination provided by windows that wrap around two sides of the bayed nook. Sliders at the rear open onto a small patio.
The centrally located work island houses a cook top, and next to the bay windows there's a built-in desk. Laundry appliances are nearby, in the Everett's generously sized utility room that connects to the garage.
Amenities in the owners' suite include: a private patio with sliding glass door access, a walk-in closet with window seat, and a two-section bathroom.
Upper bedrooms are well away from the owners' suite. Both have walk-in closets, and share a bathroom.
