A generous application of shingles gives the front facade a nostalgic, natural look. Tapered columns atop framed shingle bases accent the front porch, and more shingles fill the upper triangles formed by three front-facing gables.
In the foyer, a wide, arched opening on the left leads into a room that could be furnished as either a dining room or parlor. A barrel-vaulted passageway at the back leads into the vaulted great room, which can also be reached by walking straight ahead through the foyer.
A gas fireplace flanked by wide, tall windows creates a focal point in the bright and spacious great room. This lofty space is totally open to the nook and kitchen. Glass doors in the nook slide open to let in summer breezes and provide easy access to a partially covered patio.
