Impressive Array of Gathering Spaces

The Lethbridge is a traditional country-style home, designed for construction on a lot that slopes down at the right and rear.

An impressive array of gathering spaces fills the central part of the main floor, while a wing to the right comprises the spacious owners' suite, plus a library/office and powder room. Two more bedrooms, a family room and a large, unfinished storage room are in the daylight basement below, where they link to a lower level deck.

Stone veneer columns frame the custom metal railing that rims the wide front porch, and wooden shutters accent the multipaned windows there. More stone veneer covers much of the front facade, while gracefully sloped copper roofing crowns the window bay.

Inside, the foyer is naturally bright, suffused with light washing in through sidelights and a transom. An arched opening on the right leads into the owners' suite and library/office.

The much wider arch on the left opens into a large, bright, tray-ceilinged dining room, accessible through three other arches as well. Atrium doors and Craftsman-style windows fill most of the great room's rear wall. Those doors open onto a partially covered deck.

More glass wraps around the nook, and two more windows brighten the corner in front of the kitchen sink. Counters and cupboards span two sides of the kitchen, and a large cook-top island offers more space. Laundry appliances are nearby in a large utility room that links to the Lethbridge's garage.

In the owners' suite, a bright and cozy window seat fills the window bay. Luxury amenities in its private bathroom include a spa tub, oversize shower, dual vanity, private toilet, and roomy walk-in closet.
