Unique Newark includes formal and informal spaces
Shutters and sets of paired columns give a neo-colonial flavor to the Newark, a naturally bright home rich in contemporary amenities. Formal rooms are close to the entry, while the more relaxed, day-to-day living spaces are through double doors at the end of the central gallery.
Vaulted ceilings expand the sense of volume in the master suite, family room and nook. Skylights in these three spacious areas provide natural illumination on all but the darkest days. When those days come, lighting any or all of the three gas fireplaces rekindles warmth and cheer.
Standing at the kitchen stove, you face into the nook or gaze out sliding glass doors to the patio and landscape beyond. This kitchen has plenty of counter and cupboard space, including a roomy step-in pantry. The dining room also has built-in storage. A hutch and buffet fills one entire wall. Book or display shelves flank the living room fireplace as well.
The luxurious master suite has both a private patio and a private bathroom, plus a huge, rambling walk-in closet. Bathroom features include: twin lavs, spa tub, walk-in shower and secluded water closet.
Secondary bedrooms are over the Newark's garage, where they share a bathroom. The shuttered dormer here could be outfitted with a bench for dressing. A similar windowed alcove in one of the bedrooms makes an ideal spot for a window seat.
