Openness and light flows through Normandy
Lofty vaulted ceilings create a sense of openness in the Normandy's centrally located gathering spaces, formal and informal. Even the bayed eating nook is vaulted and has a skylight.
Room for family activities is a high priority and the generously sized kitchen, nook and family room, at the back of the home, provide plenty. The living room and dining room stand ready for entertaining, holidays and celebrations, while the vaulted study/office offers privacy.
A built-in china cabinet adds charm to the dining room. Dramatic arched windows and a fireplace bring light and warmth to the living room. Plant shelves overarch the passageways into the living room, dining room and a family room brightened by three large skylights and French doors that open onto a wide deck.
The large country kitchen has everything: appliance center, pantry, island with cooktop, and built-in oven, microwave and dishwasher. Storage space is available in the nearby utility room, which is also next to the garage. The garage has a workbench, unless the home is built over a basement. If so, that space (and the china cabinet) will be needed for stairs.
The master suite has an interesting prow-shaped bathroom across from a large walk-in closet. Soft light spills through glass blocks by the spa tub, illuminating the twin vanities as well. Toilet and shower are enclosed.
Upstairs, two bedrooms share a compartmentalized bathroom. The front bedroom of the Normandy is uniquely shaped. It has six sides, none of them the same length.
