Mediterranean House Plan - Alessandro 11-077 - Floor Plan
Design offers family living with Mediterranean flair
Stucco detailing, arched windows and a tile roof give a distinct Mediterranean flavor to the Alessandro, a four-bedroom family home designed to fit on a narrow city lot. It's 51 feet wide and 72 feet deep.
This isn't a large home, but it has a spacious feeling all the same. Ceilings are vaulted in all of the group living areas -- living room, dining room and family room -- and the entry has a 10-foot ceiling. A high plant shelf supported by graceful columns marks the boundary between living room and dining room. Draped with ivy or other hanging foliage, it creates an arbor effect that serves as a restful focal point for both rooms.
The family room is large and bright, expanded by a bayed eating nook. Sliding glass doors at the rear open into a screened patio. Washer and dryer are tucked behind folding doors.
In the kitchen, a range and oven is seated in a wide work island/eating bar. Standing at the stove, you face into the family room and can serve soup directly from stove to bowl. An adjacent pantry provides additional storage.
Glass blocks next to the spa tub provide soft, natural light in the master bathroom. Toilet and shower are separately enclosed for privacy and steam containment. The master suite also has a large walk-in closet and a door that provides direct access to the patio.
Three more bedrooms share a dual-compartment bathroom. The bedroom closest to the Alessandro's front door could be used as a home office.
