Modern Split-Level Forest View House Plan Lives up to its Name

The Forest View is a stunning modern house plan ideal for a lot with views out the front. From the driveway the front door is a half-flight of stairs up and is sheltered by a covered porch and framed by slender posts. Through the front door the entry landing provides two directions.

Heading down leads to the mud hall and garage level. The mud hall is well appointed with a bench and cubbies. A pocket office has views out the front of the home. At the end of the hall is the attached two car garage with additional storage or room for a shop.

From the entry, heading up leads to the main level and living area. At the top of the stairs, straight ahead is a half bathroom along with the laundry room. Through a cased opening the floor plan opens up to the great room with soaring 12’ ceilings and a rich display of windows that surround a double sliding glass door that opens to the covered balcony. From here views out the front of the home can be enjoyed inside or out. When the days are shorter the fireplace centered in the great room fills the space with warmth and light. At the back of the great room is the dining room which has mirrored double sliding glass doors which open the room to the covered patio. Off the dining room is the kitchen which offers ample counter space, a center work island with eating bar and a corner step-in pantry.

Off the dining room, French doors open to the den which could be furnished as a home office. Rounding out the main floor is the owners’ suite. Accessed off the great room the owners’ suite looks out the front of the home and boasts a private bathroom complete with twin sinks, soaking tub, separate shower, and a walk-in closet.

There is one more floor to the Forest View. Continuing up the staircase from the entry the stairs end at a loft which could be used as a play area for families with children. At the end of the loft is a storage closet with a laundry chute which is a great feature allowing quick delivery of clothing directly to the laundry room below. There are also two bedrooms on this floor, each with their own walk-in closet.
