House Plan Profile
Glendale
30-750
Painted wooden shutters give this country-style home plan a nostalgic look, but at its core it has the expansive openness contemporary families want. The great room has a two-story ceiling, is richly windowed at the rear, and is totally open to the kitchen and nook. A den or home office is right inside the entry, and a screened porch is at the rear.

Glendale offers a warm country welcome
With its painted wooden shutters, multipaned windows and welcoming front porch, the Glendale has country style written all over it. Slender porch columns and a multiplicity of front-facing gables add to the overall country flavor.
Entering, you step into a two-story entry bathed in light spilling in from a wide window on the upper level. Double doors on the left lead into a room that could be a den, library or home office. Ahead, the entry opens out into an expansive two-story great room. Richly windowed at the rear, this generous space is completely open to the nook and kitchen on the left.
Atrium doors in the nook provide easy access to the bright and breezy screened porch, an inviting setting for warm weather meals and relaxation. Counters and cabinets wrap around three sides of the C-shaped kitchen. One side could house an appliance garage. A roomy walk-in pantry offers plenty of storage for staples and canned goods, while a work island with a flush eating/conversation bar anchors the kitchen's center.
Laundry appliances are close at hand, in a fully outfitted utility room, complete with folding counter and deep sink. A powder room is also located at this juncture, handy to both the house and the two-car garage. The garage's rectangular bay creates a natural location for a workbench.
Off in its own quiet wing on the right, the owners' suite has a calm-inducing tray ceiling, a deep walk-in closet, and a private bathroom with a dual vanity, clawfoot tub, and oversized shower.
Three more bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a large bonus room are upstairs in the Glendale. The bonus room is windowed on two sides, and the front-facing bedroom has a vaulted ceiling.
