The Timber Hill is a fitting name for a home design with a richly windowed A-frame, perfect for taking in views of rolling hills, soaring mountains, tranquil lakes, or rapid rivers. The lodge-style exterior gives the Timber Hill the flexibility of being a year-round residence or vacation getaway.
The entry is hidden on the side and framed by slender posts that mark the boundary of the covered porch. Inside the entry opens immediately to the vaulted great room and your first glimpse of the views captured by the A-frame’s expansive window filled wall. Even the chef can enjoy looking outside from the open kitchen which is bound by a peninsula eating bar. And when the sun goes down or winter weather rolls in the cozy woodstove that placed against the staircase adds warmth and cheer to the great room.
Off the kitchen a hallway leads to the main floor full bathroom and two rooms that are separated by a utility closet with space for a stacking washer and dryer. Each room is accessed through a pocket door which saves space normally taken by a swing door. One of these rooms is the Timber Hill’s second bedroom, the other is a study. However, for larger families or those using this plan as a vacation home, the compact study could be a third bedroom.
Back in the great room, an L-shaped staircase leads up to the loft. At the top of the stairs a portion of the loft can enjoy the same view from the main floor along with the activities in the great room. The loft extends back to the owners’ loft with a small walk-in closet and private en-suite with dual vanities and a walk-in shower.
At only 31’ wide the Timber Hill is a narrow lot design that will fit on smaller lots or leave more of the property to fill with garden space or outdoor games for those who enjoy outdoor living.
