he crisp lines, rustic logs and ample windows of this A-Frame design, the Altamont, create a beautiful home. Log homes can be surprisingly inexpensive to maintain, and are known for their durability and insulation capabilities. The metal roof of the Altamont is also easy to maintain and has a long life. This home could serve as a year round residence or a special get away cabin. The well windowed center living room is naturally bright and is vaulted and v-shaped. A wood stove right of the entrance provides warmth throughout this home. From the front door the master suite fills the left side. Amenities include a walk-in closet, bathroom with a combination tub/shower, and a sliding glass door that accesses the wide deck that wraps around the rear exterior. The kitchen and utility room take up the right side of this home. The kitchen has a garden window, great for growing your own herbs, and is well-appointed. The peninsula which houses the stove allows those in the kitchen to keep an eye on the activities in the living room and beyond. The combination utility/bathroom has a shower and extra deep sink and is just a few steps away. Upstairs is a large loft with an open view to below and outwards through the expansive wall of windows. This space could house a couple bunk beds to accommodate visitors, or be used as a family room. Extra storage is accessed through doors on either side of the loft area. The wide wrap-around v-shaped deck provides for extra living space for when the weather is nice.

What's Included in a Plan Set?
Each plan set is drawn at 1/4"=1' scale and includes the following drawings:
Artist's Rendering: An artist's drawing of the home, usually viewed from the front, and general construction notes.
Elevations: Shows the front, sides, and rear, including exterior materials, trim sizes, roof pitches, etc.
Main Floor Plan: Shows placement and dimensions of walls, doors, & windows. Includes the location of appliances, plumbing fixtures, beams, ceiling heights, etc.
Second Floor Plan (if any): Shows the second floor in the same detail as the main floor. Includes second floor framing and details.
Foundation Plan: Shows the location of all concrete footings, floor beams, first floor framing, and foundation details. If there is a basement, a basement plan is included which shows all basement details.
Floor Framing Plan (if any): Shows location and spacing of floor joists and supporting walls or beams.
Roof Framing Plan: Shows roof outlines, conventional framing/trusses, beams, roof framing details, etc.
Section & Details: Shows a cross-section of the home. Shows support members, exterior and interior materials, insulation, and foundation. Specific details such as fireplaces, stairways, decks, etc. are drawn at 1/2" = 1' scale, and appear as needed throughout the prints.
Electrical Plan: A schematic layout of all lighting, switches and electrical outlets.
