Craftsman House Plan - Caraville 30-721 - Floor Plan
Caraville exudes Craftsman bungalow charm
The Caraville's small size and Craftsman bungalow charm make it equally alluring to young families looking for a starter home, and empty nesters who wish to minimize home maintenance, chores, and expenses.
Multipaned uppers on windows and doors typify the Craftsman style. Other telling features include the tapered columns, shingled gable fronts, and gable-end accents.
Natural light washes into the entry through slender panes of glass stacked up along the left side of the door, and more filters in through the transom. The foyer leads directly into the living room, after passing two bedroom passageways on the left, and a coat closet on the right.
The family gathering space at the rear is bright and open. The living room, dining room and kitchen flow together there, with a peninsular counter as the only boundary. The raised eating bar that rims the counter helps conceal the inevitable clutter of a busy kitchen. Light spills in through two wide windows, one of which slides open to access a partially covered patio.
Work surfaces are so amply supplied that two or three cooks can combine their culinary efforts without getting in each others way. Cabinets line two walls, and laundry appliances are nearby in a pass-through utility room that links with the Caraville's garage.
The owners' suite, entered via a separate hallway at the rear, has more amenities than one might expect in a small home. It has a wide window, a roomy walk-in closet, and a private bathroom with a dual vanity and oversized shower. A floor-to-ceiling linen closet nestles into the entry alcove.
Secondary bedrooms are up front, where they flank the main bathroom. The front bedroom is slightly larger.
