Happy Holidays from Associated Designs!
It is difficult not to think of sunshine and warm afternoons when looking at the Glenridge, a Mediterranean house plan inspired by the tropical Florida climate. Tile roof, stucco exterior, an array of arched windows and raised planters work together to create the Glenridge's welcoming and sunny exterior. The side entry garage is out of the line of sight from the street.
Once inside, some of the rooms are just as sunny as the outside. The family room and kitchen (along with the main bathroom and hallway to the secondary bedrooms) are illuminated by skylights. On the right side of the family room, a set of double doors leads to a screened porch which is framed by a patio on three sides.
Arched entrances and 10' coffered ceilings can be found in the dining and living rooms. While the living room is expanded by a large bay window, the dining room is graced with three arches separating it from the family room and is cooled by a ceiling fan. Set under the window in the dining room is a buffet with built-in warmer.
The kitchen is a generous size and flows seamlessly into the breakfast room. The kitchen is furnished with an eating bar - perfect for quick meals or snacks, a walk-in pantry, an island with built-in cooktop. Through a pocket door, is the large utility room. Designed as a passageway from the main home to the garage, the utility room is filled with ample counter space which could double as a hobby space - if crafting or sewing are your passions - or as a mud room.
Filling the front left corner of the home the master suite is lavishly furnished. A generously sized walk-in closet is framed by two additional closets lined with shelves. In the owners' suite bathroom, you'll find dual sinks and a spa tub centered on a wall with glass blocks which naturally brighten this space. Through the pocket door are a separately enclosed toilet and walk-in shower. If a pool is located in the backyard, then no additional pool house is needed. The owners' suite bathroom continues with an additional room with a sink that has access to the backyard allowing swimmers portioned off access to the owners' bathroom.
Jumping over to the 2 car garage are two storage closets. One with access to the outside for storing pool equipment or yard maintenance tools, the second with interior access for keeping any holiday decorations or whatever else. Between the two storage closets is room for a small shop complete with bench and access to the yard.
