Prairie Style House Plan - Laurelhurst 30-994 - Floor Plan
The Laurelhurst is an update of the Prairie-style home that originated in early 20th century Chicago. Low-pitched hipped rooflines, wide eaves and massive columns typify this style.
The wide-open gathering spaces at the rear make this home ideal for families that enjoy hosting celebrations. Windows fill most of the rear wall in a great room with a fireplace. Nothing more than a drop in ceiling height separates the great room from a dining room with sliding glass doors that open onto a rambling covered patio.
The kitchen is open to the dining room, across a work island with a cook top on one side and a gracefully curved eating bar on the other. Generous cupboard and counter space includes a roomy walk-in pantry. The large media room to the right also offers patio access.
A den, to the right of the foyer, is in an ideal location for a home office. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms fill out the left wing. The luxurious owners’ suite boasts a spa tub, dual vanity, walk-in shower and large walk-in closet.
